Clerk of Courts

The Clerk of Courts is elected by the people to serve the citizens and the courts of Fayette County by keeping up-to-date and accurate information and by maintaining the security and integrity of all criminal records entrusted to the Clerk of Courts Office.  The Clerk signs and affixes the Seal of the Courts to all documents, administers oaths and affirmations and assumes custody of the seal and records of the Court.  The Clerk certifies and distributes orders of the Court.

County Commissioners
The mission of the Board of Commissioners is to provide efficient services in a cost effective manner to all County residents, businesses and other governmental agencies.


County Controller
Primary Functions

· Keep the books of the county
· Scrutinize all fiscal transactions to ensure compliance with statute (1702)
· Audit books of county officers
· Maintain custody of valuable documents
· Serve on following boards/commissions:
· Prison
· Retirement (statutory secretary)
· Salary
· Sinking Fund Commission

District Attorney

The Fayette County District Attorney’s office is overseen by the District Attorney. He is the chief law enforcement officer in Fayette County. Under the guise of the District Attorney, there are 10 Assistant District Attorneys, five clerical staff, two Victim/Witness advocates, one Chief County Detective, and one Assistant County Detective.

Jury Commissioners

   It is the Mission of the Jury Commissioners to provide the Court of Common Pleas of Fayette County, in an ethical, efficient, and cost-effective manner, a pool of qualified jurors diverse in age, ethnic background, gender, and life experience.


The Prothonotary is the Chief Clerk and Recordkeeper for all filings related to Civil Cases.  

 The Office is  responsible for the filing, recording and processing of all Civil Actions, Equity Actions, Judgments, Federal Tax Liens & Local Tax Liens, City Municipal Liens, Family Court Matters, Arbitrations, License Suspension Appeals, Appeals to Higher Courts, Naturalization Searches and Applications for Passports.

 The Office is also responsible for the filing and recording of all Judgments, Orders of Court and  Decrees of Court (pertaining to Divorce).

 The Office issues Writs and process many other legal documents.  We review pleadings filed for compliance with Pa Rules of Civil Procedure and Fayette County Rules of Court. 

 Filing fees are collected for services rendered and turned over to the County & State which makes this Office self-supporting at no cost to the taxpayers

Register of Wills/Clerk of Orphans’ Court

.The Register of Wills Office is the filing and docketing office for the Orphans Court division.


The County Treasurer’s Office is multi-functional.  We are charged with the responsibility of properly receipting and depositing all revenue remitted to the County from various sources.

We also serve as an Agent for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This means we issue dog licenses, hunting licenses, fishing licenses, bingo and small games of chance licenses on behalf of the Commonwealth.

In addition, my office serves as the Tax Collector for the Cities of Uniontown and Connellsville and the Borough of Ohiopyle.
